This might sound crazy but trust me when I say that not a lot of people/brands are utilizing this strategy so it’s a very blue ocean if you stick around till the end I’ll share some interesting resources with you.
So how did we help this E-Commerce brand’s awareness and sales grow by 5000%+, First let me introduce you to the client and how they approached us.
Name: Dave (digitaldave)
Background: Dave is the founder and CEO of a growing e-commerce company. He’s passionate about technology and always looking for innovative ways to engage his customers and build his brand.
Goals and challenges:
- Increase brand awareness and recognition
- Improve customer engagement and loyalty
- Stay ahead of the competition in the e-commerce industry
- Develop a reputation for innovation and cutting-edge technology
- Find a creative partner who can help take their marketing efforts to the next level
Budget: $25,000 — $35,000 (can’t share an exact figure but I can only share a ballpark figure)
Timeline: 6 Weeks
Now when Dave (the client) reached out to us, he was having problems connecting with his audience. Building a strong connection with your audience is what separates the big dogs from the bottom feeders in the E-Commerce industry. In fact, According to research done by Forbes, the e-commerce brands that were able to stay afloat despite what was going on in the world or industry, all had 1 thing in common, can you guess? A Deep Connection with their Audience.
For Dave, this was a big issue because as with most E-Commerce Brands today, when someone makes a purchase, that’s it. Nothing More Nothing Less. They rarely come back or even remember you.
He wanted to change that.
Now you might be asking yourself what did we do to solve this? We created a solid Marketing Campaign which would run for 1 Month (4 Weeks) and hit all his challenges plus more
Here was the plan of attack and how we grew his E-Commerce brand’s awareness and sales by 5000%+.

- Influencer Marketing
- Social Media Ads
- Augmented Reality Experiences
- Creative Strategy
Now I know that sounds simple but trust me when I say, it works like magic once put together. You know what, I’ll let you be the judge. Just read on and I’ll show you how we put this 5-Step Plan to grow Dave’s E-Commerce brand’s awareness and sales by 5000%+
Firstly we spent the first 3 days coming up with a Creative Strategy for how we were going to tackle the problems he was facing. This is usually one of the most interesting parts of the entire process.
We have a joint fun whiteboard session with the clients where we align the goals, influencers, platforms to support, etc. We ideate and ideate till we’re all satisfied that it could work. Here’s how you can do the same:
- Use your preferred Whiteboard Application (We use ClickUp for its ease and collaborative features)
- Idea dump on it, screenshots, videos, logos. Name it and Stick it there.
- Ensure everyone is on the same page, including the client (we were lucky to have a client who was hands-off and trusted our process but you still want them to be a part of the process)
- Outline your plan of attack. Which platforms are you running the ads on? How much of the budget are you using as a Giveaway token? Which influencers are you onboarding to help? How many of them? What platforms would you create the AR experience for? What would it look like? Ask and answer these questions and stick them here on the whiteboard for all to see.
You don’t want to rush this process as it’s the creative strategy that would make or break your campaign. Here’s what we came up with in the case of Dave:
- Platforms of Focus: Instagram
- Influencers: 3 different Mid-tier influencers: 50,000–500,000 followers with consistent engagement rates and relevant content (they should be in your niche, you don’t want to share your posts with an irrelevant audience. No matter how engaged they are unless you’re Ryan Reynolds 😂)
- AR Experience: Create an engaging AR experience that highlights the products and gives the audience a chance to create content with them. The most creative content win
- Creative Assets: 3 Videos & 6 Images (3 normal posts and 3 stories posts).
- Giveaways: The most creative content made with the AR experience and posted with a custom hashtag (for easier measurement, tracking, and getting the algorithm to boost the post and brand) like #davie and giving cash gifts (3 tiers — 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place)
- Running 3 Ads: 1 Video Ad, 1 Image Ad, and 1 AR Ad(Drive Engagement)
Now that you have all these down and ready to go. You’re ready to go. It takes time to perfect this so expect at least a week of constant back and forth to get this all together.
Now you should create and test the AR experience till it’s perfected. Then share with your three selected influencers to create content and hype. Just one video showcasing them using the AR experience with your brand tagged in the post to build hype then share 1 image.
So they’d be creating a video, sharing that with their audience, and also sharing your image (a design showcasing your brand and how you’d be rewarding people with a sum token for creating the best content plus a few rules like the hashtags it must be posted under the, the eligibility to partake and how to find the AR experience).
Run ads with the creatives too. Nothing too special, just run ads to hit the most eyes aka Engagement Ads. Low Cost and Very Effective in this Case. Reach as many as people possible.
Now you just want to keep up the engagement, when someone creates a post, re-share it, like, and comment. Just keep the drive going. You’d be getting hundreds daily if you pull this off the right way.
In the end, you should give the winners the promised amount and ask for a video thanking them and confirming they’ve received it. (plus feel free to add schwag to spice things up a bit)
This entire process should take you a month. You want to just show up for those that are showing up for your brand also.
Here’s why this Strategy is so effective:
- It places your brand right in the center of this campaign
- Whatever content is created, would be under the custom hashtag tied back to your brand.
- There’s no selling involved (people hate being sold to) but there’d be a ton of people buying
- The Instagram algorithm favors AR user-generated content at the moment so expect the algorithm to favor any post created with your AR content
- The AR experience would be fun and would have your logo on it. So when they create content and post, anyone who sees it would know where it’s from and would love to join, and ultimately lead to a new customer or fan
- Your brand would almost overnight stand out from the crowd of the other e-commerce brands just running ads and hoping for the best
- You have a very high chance to trend and at that point like they say is history
- Your brand’s awareness flys through the roof
- You have a huge chance to be featured in a prominent blog for the sheer creativity
- You’re utilizing the best forms of marketing all at once, Immersive marketing, Influencer marketing, and Word of Mouth to get massive results.
